Extended Stay

Full Day Junior Kindergarten
Half day Junior Kindergarten classes meet from 8 am to 11:45 am, M-F. The full day offers supervision and care from 11:45 am until the end of the school day, M-F.  The program is non-instructional and includes lunch, indoor and outdoor activity, nap time, and games and dismisses at 3:05 with the rest of the school.

Students take their first steps down the unique path of a classical Christian education in Junior Kindergarten (JK).  During this foundational year students experience an exciting year of growth and learning with morning meetings, center play, weekly Bible stories, learning verses by memory, attending weekly chapel, “Fun Fridays” and so much more.  They develop phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension skills and learn to recognize letters and sounds, write upper and lower case letters, write and read their first basic words. They work on math skills by counting, sequencing, patterning and learning to count coins.  They explore their world through thematic units covering weather, history, seasons and holidays just to name a few.

Full Day Kindergarten

Kindergarten is an exciting time! It is a season of tremendous growth and maturity…academically, socially, and spiritually.  At Christ Covenant, our job is to partner with parents. We value every child and strive to challenge your children to reach their best potential in a supportive, encouraging and Christ-like atmosphere.  During the Grammar School years, students are taught important information through songs, chants, rhymes, recitations, and Bible stories.  Students memorize Bible verses and math facts. They grow in phonemic awareness, reading, math concepts, writing, public speaking, and comprehension.  Classical education helps children to appreciate learning, think independently, and develop a godly character. Parents have an option for full day kindergarten, or you may send your child for half day morning sessions classes.  Half day K classes meet from 8 am to 11:45 am, M-F.  Full day K includes lunch, academic reinforcement of math, reading, extra enrichment activity and dismisses at 3:05 with the rest of the lower school.
