Athletic Program

Athletic Program

The Spartan Athletic Program of Christ Covenant School offers a variety of sports in the fall, winter, and spring seasons. Spartan athletic coaches train our athletes based on the principle set forth in Colossians 3:23, ” Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Coaches essentially assume the role of teachers and become an extension of the overall philosophy of Christ Covenant School. The coaches of Christ Covenant School athletic teams train our athletes in the following seven virtues:  1)  Respect your opponents, referees, and coaches  2)  Prepare for competition Diligently  3)  Play with Humility  4)  Demonstrate Courage while competing  5)  Play with Integrity  6)  Execute the process Orderly while participating in a sport  7)  Create Unity among your teammates and coaches.

Philosophy

The Christ Covenant School athletic program serves the purpose of providing students a Christ-centered environment in which to participate in competitive athletics. In short, we are pursuing discipleship through athletics. Just as Jesus was a disciple-maker of those around him, coaches will train student athletes and encourage them have a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Our athletic programs not only help athletes to develop their skills, but they also build character and sportsmanship while encouraging them to follow Christian principles and self-discipline during competition as well as during practices. At CCS, athletes will also develop lifelong leadership skills and Christ-honoring service. Our athletic program is built on the principle set forth in Colossians 3:23, “whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men.” Ultimately, our program seeks to instill in our young men and women the life skills necessary to be the kind of people that God desires them to be as active followers of Christ.
